Museum of Contemporary Russian Art
The Museum of Contemporary Russian Art has been established as a non-profit, tax-exempt and publicly funded cultural and educational corporation.
In 25 years we have organized about 400 exhibitions Sponsored numerous studies and publications on topics concerning Russian Avant-garde and Russian Contemporary Art Co-hosted art shows with the Gallery of the US Senate and Congress, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Tretyakov National Gallery, Fine Art Museums of Tokyo(Japan), Shartr(France),Ture(France), Lavalia (France), Saarbrucken(Germany) ,Biennial in of Unofficial Russian Art in Venice, Institute of Contemporary Art of London. numerous university and college galleries and museums across the US and Russia
The institution is devoted to creating and preserving extraordinary examples of the 20th century Russian art. MoCRA provides a welcoming place for people to connect with art and to ponder on its relationship to their lives.
The Museum is organizing regular exhibitions from its permanent collection as well as those on loan from other collections.
The Museum is seeking to expand the total scope of public knowledge by supporting original research on topics of Russian Avant-garde and Contemporary art.
The Museum and its associates are constantly conducting research and make findings available to the public in order to promote cultural dialogue on the subject of Russian Art.
The Museum of Contemporary Russian Art was founded in 1980 by Alexander Glezer.
