Artistic Partnership

In the past, art shows at the Russian Museum included works of Constantine Gedal, an art educator, an artist working in a wide array of media and a world wanderer.
There is no surprise that a person of such an intriguing biography as of Gedal’s would cross his ways with an artist such as Eser Afacan, who also traversed half the world in his artistic search.
Afacan, native of Turkey now lives and works in Canada, where he moved from Norway. During his lengthy stay in Norway, Eser Afacan studied with Odd Nerdrum and exhibited his works all around Europe.

Recently, Afacan and Gedal started to collaborate in their creative
work, exchanging artistic ideas and technical expertise. They both
share passion for artistic expression found in figurative forms. Their work equally employs metaphysical subjects and explores realms of human fears and desires.

This teamwork initiated a number of trips between New York, Ontario and Quebec with prolonged hours spent in the artists’ studios. Sharing materials, working with same models, they even installed extra easels and doubled art supplies in each of their studios to facilitate moving between ateliers
